Dear Mom & Dad,

It’s me, Birdie, first time camper. I am loving SPK9 Board and Train summer camp!

Day 1 recap: I arrived, did a full security sweep (sniffed everything), met the camp counselors…they keep calling themselves “trainers”… interesting…and got introduced to the camp rules. There are… a lot of them. Apparently “do whatever I want” is NOT on the schedule?? Bit of a red flag.

We’ve got activities here like “sit,” “kennel,” and “walking nicely on a leash”, which I’m pretty sure are just team building exercises. I participated… when I felt like it.

I’ve made a few new camp buddies, showed off my zoomies during recess, and really leaned into my role as “funny, slightly chaotic new kid.” The counselors say I’m smart and catching on quick, which I assume means I’m their favorite.

I’ll be here working on my skills, building character, and probably questioning authority just a little. By the time you pick me up, I’ll be a well rounded, highly educated camp dog.

Miss you guys, but camp life is kinda my thing now.

Every dog that walks through our doors brings something different, and that’s the magic of it. Getting to learn who they are, how they think, and what makes them light up is the best part of what we do. It’s never the same day twice, always something to love.
